Brian James Look, if you are new to bvdub then where have you been? For the last 10 years he has put out an enviable body of work that, for all it's sheer volume, doesn't diminish in quality; if anything it keeps getting better. One Last Look at the Sea" is on the cusp of his lighter ambient phase from last decade; the title track is bookended by waves lapping on the shore, echoed by the seemingly endless gentle wash of melancholy that follows. At once simple beauty and infinite complexity.

Especially the title track "One Last Look At The Sea" gives the listener an idea of a yearning, the yearning standing at a certain point at the shore and watching the majesty of an ocean. Incredible experience. I may sound a little bit enthusiastic but that's it what I am after hearing the album. And the fact Brock gave it to us for free shows his great heart for music and the sense of music, far apart from profit and reputation. Thank you Brock for an outstanding album! Notes

"3 years ago I made an album titled "One Last Look at the Sea"... As many of you know, it was supposed to be released on Somnia, but the label closed. Then it was supposed to come out on 2 other labels, one of which also closed, and the other of which went on an indefinite hiatus."

"So what I have decided to do is to offer my humble thanks to all who have supported not only Quietus in the past, but my music in general both past and present."

"As some of you know, from China I am currently unable to run Quietus in its original form for a myraid of reasons, so I have decided to do a one-time digital release, and to show my thanks to everyone by giving it to you for free."

This is Brock's masterpiece of an album. A mixture of Ambient and Deep Techno with amazing soundscapes which bring the ocean directly into your headphones. Brock manages it to create a soulful, peaceful and thoughtful story in 7 pieces. This is profound electronic music at its best and like I've never heard it before. It may seem to be close to his albums "Tribes at the temple of silence" and "The Art of Dying Alone" but at the same time it completely stands for its own and leads into another world. Especially the title track "One Last Look At The Sea" gives the listener an idea of a yearning, the yearning standing at a certain point at the shore and watching the majesty of an ocean. Incredible experience.I may sound a little bit enthusiastic but that's it what I am after hearing the album.
