Australian singer Stephen Cummings is one of Australia's most respected and critically acclaimed artists despite a lack of chart-topping hits during his long and successful career. Cummings began with Melbourne's the Pelaco Brothers during the mid-'70s. He then fronted the Sports for six years before they disbanded in 1981. Cummings' debut single, "We All Make Mistakes," was released in January 1983 and a debut dance-oriented album, Senso, in August 1984. His third album, A New Kind of Blue, won the 1989 Australian Record Industry Award (ARIA) for Best Adult Contemporary Album. Good Humour, released in 1990, marked a return to his earlier dance style. His 1992 outing, Unguided Tour, produced a more rock-driven sound.

Cummings changed labels to True Tone Records for his next album, A New Kind of Blue, which was released in March 1989 and produced by Cummings and O'Mara. It spawned three singles, "A Love is a Life" in October 1988, "Your House is Falling" in February 1989 and "When the Day is Done" in July For his fifth solo album, Good Humour, Cummings returned to his earlier dance and funk sound from his.

Stephen Cummings launched a solo career after he left The Sports, and his albums have been widely acclaimed - including Senso, A New Kind of Blue, which was awarded an ARIA for best adult contemporary album, and Falling Swinger which was nominated in Australian Rolling Stone's '100 Essential Albums'. Shane O'Mara is a highly skilled guitarist who has performed and recorded with many of Australia's finest musicians - people like Paul Kelly, Christine Anu and Stephen Cummings
