Two generations meet in THREE COMPOSITIONS FOR MACHINES, a unique "challenge" presented and documented by Staalplaat, the Netherlands' stronghold of all things experimental. Pan Sonic's Mika Vainio, Mego label curator Peter "Pita" Rehberg, and Charlemagne Palestine, flamboyant alumnus of the NYC school of '60s minimalism, were invited by Staalplaat to compose and perform pieces for new instruments designed by artist C. Schlaege. All three musicians answer this conceptual summons with resourceful chops to spare.
