Heldon IV - Agneta Nilsson is a music studio album recording by HELDON (Progressive ve Rock) released in 1976 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Anyway, putting that aside, 'Agneta Nilsson' is an electronic album full of long washes of growling analogue synths masterminded by Richard Pinhas. Just watch how you pronounce that awkward suname English speakers!). Most Heldon albums sound heavily influenced by Robert Fripp. This is probably the most intense and menacing sounding of all their releases. Agneta Nilsson' is like a darker sounding French 'Tangerine Dream'.

The 1976 LP Heldon IV: Agneta Nilsson, as interesting as it is, remains one notch below the other albums from that decade by Richard Pinhas' project Heldon. Recorded at home for the most part, it does not sound as good as the others. Musically, the ideas are thinner and less developed. This is a transitional album: Pinhas was slowly leaving the electronics-only motto of early Heldon to incorporate rock elements, but he still had to find a clear direction

The 1976 LP Heldon IV: Agneta Nilsson, as interesting as it is, remains one notch below the other albums from that decade by Richard Pinhas' project Heldon. Pinhas does not even play on this one - a very different touch on the album. Seven minutes into the piece Roussel joins in, showing the full extent of his talent, along with bassist Alain Bellaïche and Patrick Gauthier on mini-Moog, while Pinhas picks up his guitar and starts one of his flaming five-minute solos.

from my article "From the land of Schizo and beyond..." in Audion 23 (Nov.1992)HELDON IV: AGNETA NILSSON (apparently named after Richard's girlfriend) offered a much more complex and richly musical concoction, not only due to Richard's new toy: The Big Moog, but also due to the sheer length and intensity of the album: Perspective I with its menacing looping aura, rich wedges of mellotron and filtered electronic sound, Perspective III with extremely pacey bass sequencer and distant demented guitar, and let's not forget what is probably the definitive piece of Heldon: Perspective IV, a 21+ minute improvisation featuring Coco Roussell, Patrick Gauthier and Alain Bellaiche. Again there is a curiosity here: Intermede & Bassong by a duo of Michel Ettori and Gerard Prevost.p.s. Agneta later became Richard's wife.

A quote from my Spalax new release news in Audion magazine #25 (June 1993)...those awaiting the CD reissue of Heldon's AGNETA NILSSON will be pleased to know that it is now out (14227), yet I must give a word of warning (and this is obviously the reason for the delay in its release) that this is not a complete reproduction of the LP! Actually it sounds as though all the four tracks from side 1 are taken from a record! Perspective 1 and Perspective 3 both fade in and out to avoid notable groove noise, and quite ashamedly only 1'33" of the original 2'58" Intermede & Bassong is included! Perspective 4, at 21'47", could also be from an LP, though I can't hear any groove noise. A pity the tapes seem to have been lost as I was hoping to have my Heldon collection complete on CD, yet my LP sounds just as good (maybe better) and is over 3 minutes longer!
