On September 1st, 2005, 11 years ago, the members of your personal Jazz Band all found themselves in unfamiliar places watching television as their hometown was inundated by the waters of Lake Pontchartrain and their compatriots struggled to survive in the chaos that ensued. Fortunately, clarinetist and bandleader Ben Schenck, along with his wife and her brother, piano-man, bandleader and songwriter - and eventual "Treme" (HBO) character - Davis Rogan, managed to find a soft place to land with good friends in Baton Rouge. From there they were able to plot their return to New Orleans.

OREGON is a Jazz Rock/Fusion, Progressive Rock artist from United States. The band released numerous albums on Vanguard label throughout the 1970s, and then made two records for ECM label in 1983. Oregon deserves a place in the Jazzrock category as a brilliant world jazz precursor, their music being an accomplished synthesis of many genre, the perfect weeding of western and eastern music.
The Oregon Jazz Band is a dixieland jazz band based in Coos Bay, Oregon. They are America's longest established dixieland jazz band, founded by Dr. Bill Borcher in Coos Bay in 1947. Borcher went on to become the men's basketball coach at the University of Oregon(1951–56) and founded the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the world's largest dixieland jazz festival. Internationally, several other bands equal or predate the Oregon Jazz Band.
