Loren MazzaCane Connors (born October 22, 1949, New Haven, Connecticut) is an American experimental musician who has recorded and performed under several different names: Guitar Roberts, Loren Mazzacane, Loren Mattei, and currently Loren Connors.

The records feature Loren's contorted impressions of Delta and country blues, persistently kneaded into sidelong guitar excursions entangled with wordless, mournful vocal utterances, hummed and moaned in imitation of the dogs that often howled outside his window.

This album has an average beat per minute of 65 BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: 65/65 BPM). See its BPM profile at the bottom of the page. Recent albums by Loren MazzaCane Connors. No surprise, therefore, that his eight-volume series of acoustic improvisations Unaccompanied Acoustic Guitar Improvisations Vol. 1-8 (Daggett, 1978 - Ecstatic Peace, 1999) was hard to classify. The triple album Harmony of the Spheres (Drunken, Fish, 1999) contains Mazzacane's four-part suite Revolt. Calloden Harvest (Road Cone, 1997) is one of his harshest and least organic works, but also one of the most powerful. Disguised as Guitar Roberts, Loren Mazzacane Connors released Red Mars (Family Vineyard, 2011), his first disc of new material since 2004. Northern Spy, 2012) I Wish I Didn't Dream was a new collaboration between Loren Mazzacane Connors (guitar) and Suzanne Langille (vocals).

Unaccompanied Acoustic Guitar Improvisations Vol. 1-9 1979-1980 (Ecstatic Peace/Father Yod, 1999). This 4-CD box contains all nine acoustic guitar LPs that Connors released on his first label, Daggett, named after the street he lived on in New Haven, CT. Raw and direct, the music centers on his abrupt, sometimes tuneless string plucks. His sporadic progressions are unpredictable, and often accompanied by his wordless hums and moans, which he claimed were an involuntary mimicking of the dogs that often howled outside his window. Though it was their last album together, Moonlight might be the best example of how Connors' guitar style meshes with Bloom's intoxicating warble. At times, it feels as if she's translating his notes into words.

Loren began releasing his first LPs in 1978 on his own Daggett imprint. He has appeared on more than fifty albums under the names Loren MazzaCane, Loren MazzaCane Connors, Loren Mattei, and Guitar Roberts, many of these with the vocalist and songwriter Suzanne Langille. He has performed with a virtual who’s who of contemporary guitarists - John Fahey (who praises Loren in his forthcoming book Vampire Vultures ), Thurston Moore, Henry Kaiser, Jim O’Rourke, Rafael Toral, Alan Licht, Dean Roberts, and numerous others.
