This was the last album with Joe Walsh and his material is what makes the album worth having. The vinyl version of "Walk away" sounds way better then what you remember from listening to classic rock stations. The other songs are good, but are a step down.

Thirds is the third studio album by the American rock band, James Gang. The album was released in mid 1971, on the label ABC Records. It is the last studio album featuring Joe Walsh.

The James Gang Rides Again set the stage for the group's third album to propel them to Top Ten, headliner status, but that didn't happen. The band was on its last legs, rent by dissension as Walsh became the focus of attention, and the appropriately titled Thirds reflected the conflict. Among the nine original songs, four were contributed by Walsh, two each by bass player Dale Peters and drummer Jim Fox, and one was a group composition.

Thirds is the third studio album by James Gang, released in 1971, and is the last studio album led by Joe Walsh. The Walsh period comes to a close with the release of the live album James Gang Live in Concert. The original band members were drummer Jimmy Fox, bassist Tom Kriss, guitarist Ronnie Silverman, keyboardist Phil Giallombardo, and guitarist Greg Grandillo, who was quickly replaced by Dennis Chandler. Bill Jeric replaced Silverman when he entered the service. And after Chandler left, the group featured Glen Schwartz

The James Gang was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966. The band enjoyed moderate success with the singles "Funk and "Walk Away," and are perhaps best remembered as the first popular band to feature the guitarist/vocalist Joe Walsh, who later became a member of the Eagles. He relocated to the mountains of Colorado and eventually formed Barnstorm.
