The Go-Betweens, circa the release of their album ‘Tallulah’ in 1987. No, this is a warm, inviting, frank and self-deprecating chronicle of The Go-Betweens, capable of engrossing hardliners and first-timers alike. At the peak of the group’s powers, the dual singer-songwriter nuclei of founding members Robert Forster and the late Grant McLennan emitted a knowing, yet heartfelt glow that has not diminished over time. By the end of Right Here, you’ll no longer have ‘em filed away as the greatest band to ever hail from Brisbane. Or as the greatest band from Australia never to have a hit in their own country.
