Sweet Revenge is the second studio album by French singer Amanda Lear, released in 1978 by West German label Ariola Records. The album turned out a major commercial success, spawning European hit disco singles "Follow Me" and "Enigma (Give a Bit of Mmh to Me)". Sweet Revenge remains Lear's best-selling album. It was released in CD format in 1992.

Sweet Revenge In 1978 Lear continued her line of disco hits with Sweet Revenge, an album that opens with a concept medley about a Faustian fairy tale of a girl who sells her soul to the devil for fame and fortune and in her eventual revenge over the devil's offer finds true love. The Amanda Lear persona left an impact on European pop culture that has lasted for five decades. The Sweet Revenge album cover shows Lear as a leather-clad S&M dominatrix cracking her whip, while the sepia-toned back cover pic shows her reclining on an old beer barrel with sequined curtains behind her à la Dietrich in The Blue Angel. The inner sleeve again pictured her topless.

Lear's singing is perhaps Monn's greatest effect: androgynous, sultry, out of reach and horny at the same time, Lear works hard to pretend at playing the merciless siren. She can't properly sing even one note, but what's that got to do with anything? Track Listing.
