It has some of the best and worst material of their discography. Most of Labyrinth's releases are growers, and this album is even more so. I appreciate them a lot, because they could have tried to copy their original formula. A formula that worked three times already. But this time they tried something different. Many new elements are present, and these new elements can be quite divisive. For example, right from the get go, this album features many new electronic sound effects in the intros and transitions. In some cases, the electronics provide great buildup and atmosphere (Bullets, the Title Track, & Diamond), but in other cases, the electronics.
Architecture Of A God. This song is by Labyrinth and appears on the album Architecture Of A God (2017). On an old and broken chairStaring at a wall he tries to catchThe reflections of all his thoughtsTo understand the Architecture of a God. He's an old man, from a far pastBut when he was a boy he used to dreamOf himself old, sitting right thereAt the same wall, wondering. Labyrinth. The album contains 2 bona fide speedsters, with possibly Bullets being a close third. Most of the other cuts being a mixed bag of introspective, atmospheric pieces, but absolutely no filler to be found here! The keyboards are more prominent than ever, it works, Oleg Smirnoff is a monster, so he gets plenty of room to show off his technical chops. I have to mention John Macaluso on the skins, who needs no introduction, is a beast throughout the album
Architecture of a God Lyrics. (2017). Album (Studio full-length). Progressive Metal, Power Metal. On an old and broken chair Staring at a wall he tries to catch The reflections of all his thoughts To understand the Architecture of a God. He's an old man, from a far past But when he was a boy he used to dream Of himself old, sitting right there At the same wall, wondering. And he wonders if it's all just a joke Or it's another dream he's having as a boy. Past and future glide Both are parts of the same line Drawn by an inscrutable Architect It depends on which way you decide to walk that line While the Architect sets our lives.
