Led Zeppelin is the debut album by English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released on 12 January 1969 in the United States and on 31 March in the United Kingdom by Atlantic Records. The album was recorded in September and October 1968 at Olympic Studios, London, shortly after the band's formation. It contains a mix of original material worked out in the first rehearsals, and remakes and rearrangements of contemporary blues and folk songs

The discography of the English rock band Led Zeppelin consists of eight studio albums, four live albums, nine compilation albums, sixteen singles and eight music downloads. Formed in London in 1968, the group consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The band pioneered the concept of album-oriented rock and often refused to release popular songs as singles

Led Zeppelin were merely a decade old when they began cutting In Through the Out Door in late '78, but were already unsure about carrying on. They'd been out of commission ever since Robert Plant's young son Karac died in 1977, and their last tour was an endless series of disasters culminating in multiple riots. In their time off, the punk movement exploded in New York and London, and they were in danger of coming off like dinosaurs. Making matters worse, Jimmy Page was using heroin and John Bonham was a hopeless alcoholic. Led Zeppelin's second album was recorded during the precious little downtime they had on their endless 1969 world tour. It took them months to record in studios all across America and Europe, yet somehow it sounds cohesive.

Led Zeppelin are widely considered one of the best 70s bands and one of the best rock bands of all time. Led Zep formed in the UK in the late '60s, with a lineup consisting of Robert Plant on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass, and John Bonham on the drums. Tragically, the band's future was cut short in 1980, when Bonham died of an accidental alcohol overdose leading to inhalation of vomit. This Led Zeppelin discography is ranked from best to worst, so the top Led Zeppelin albums can be found at the top of the list.

Led Zeppelin formed out of the ashes of The Yardbirds. Jimmy Page had joined the band in its final days, playing a pivotal role on the group's final album, 1967's Little Games, which also featured string arrangements from John Paul Jones. During 1967, the Yardbirds were fairly inactive. Whilst the band members decided the group's future, Page returned to session work in 1967.

Led Zeppelin, the original hammer-swinging band of rock gods, is back-and all it took was Chris Hemsworth to pull it off. (Or is that Liam?) The English supergroup of the 1970s is now the supergroup for the 21st-century superhero set, with its stomping 1970 classic Immigrant Song powering the Thor: Ragnarok trailer to record downloads and entering the Billboard charts for the first time since its release. There’s also a rumor swirling that Zeppelin may reunite for this summer’s Desert Trip Festival. 7. In Through the Out Door (1979) Zeppelin’s penultimate album-and the last with John Bonham-was reviled by many of the group’s rabid fans for seeming to jettison the signature Zeppelin sound for more contemporary stylings. Page thought the album was a little soft. But the group rarely sounded better than on Fool in the Rain, with a piano hook for the ages and a great Plant vocal.

Led Zeppelin have announced their return after four decades with a new studio album in September and a world tour featuring drummer Ringo Starr in the fall. Led Zeppelin V will be the band’s ninth studio album (following 1979’s In Through the Out Door) and the first full collection of new material since 1982’s Coda, a post-breakup compilation of unused tracks and b-sides. Led Zeppelin’s legendary founder, guitarist, and producer Jimmy Paige confirmed the band’s reunion via Twitter
