Oracular Spectacular. Released October 2, 2007. Oracular Spectacular Tracklist. 1. Time to Pretend Lyrics. Oracular Spectacular Lyrics. About Oracular Spectacular. Not a lot of debut albums sound as ambitious as they are polished. With MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular, the duo abandon polished sounds for a more indie, electronic and pop rock sound distinct from anything else. Oracular Spectacular Q&A.

In typical Fridmann fashion, Oracular Spectacular is a glamorous mega-production through and through. Drums are massively distorted and shimmering keyboards are articulately layered as he takes the reins, leading the duo through his daisy chain of onboard compressors, delay units, and whatever other mysterious studio gizmos and gadgets he uses to get his trademark sound.

Swift Summer
I just looked at my reissued RSD copy of the album. Mine is the numbered edition (The number is stamped in gold on the back cover in the upper left hand corner. I have number 3471.
I have this copy, but I can't figure out where my album is "numbered." Help?
Dusar is an release that is identical besides the numbering/RSD cellophane sticker.
Did you ever get a response? I can't find the # either.
#2675 from Atlanta GA here...
#2040 in Los Angeles, CA
Number 5458 here. Record sounds great.
#5386 checking in from Calgary, Canada
The Music On Vinyl press was limited to 1,500. It has the gold sticker with their logo on it. The huge record store day US release (this one) is more than 7,000. I have #7,757. Oh and it sounds great!
returned my defective copy, new one sounds great.
anyone else have a weird glitch/defect on side two.. just for a second during i think the second song?
#6645 here. I bought it to listen to. So I don't know why all you guys are upset. Shouldn't be buying records for an investment, that's no fun.
#000418 in Sweden.Edit: Never mind, I don't have this version, I have the European. Seems like the european is 1500 and the american is 7000
#2162 in Pomona, CA. Thats pretty weird about the +5000 number but good since prices were starting to rise for this and 'Congratulations' quite a bit.
#2834 in Halifax, NS. Yeah seems like they did a lot more than 1500, like the MOV site says
I pick this up and Have #6600 RDS site list said 5000 where pressed what a scam
why remaster something recorded not even 6 years ago? it sounds to me like a joke..
The reissue is hopefully not pressed at United like the original. Serious quality control issues. The reissue is from original tape vs hi Rez digital file as with the original. Mastering equipment has improved and techs can retrieve more clarity from the tapes than in the past. Look no further than most Mofi and analog production reissues. Many are superior to the original.
I love Mercedes
Well if you listen to the first pressing of this album, it sounds like it's sourced from the same master as the CD release. I have to turn the volume and especially the bass up to really hear it close to its potential sound. It was also pressed on standard weight vinyl which probably didn't help. This version is definitely louder and mastered way more appropriately for vinyl (it sounds great man!). Perhaps this has been a long term plan from Columbia - release an inferior LP only to plan a remaster a few years later; this all falling in line with the resurgence of interest in vinyl. Doesn't sound like a too far-fetched marketing plan.
# 2813 in Phx, AZ. Also saw #s into the 6500s.
#7340 here. Euro version appears to have been much more limited.
The run of 1500 was for UK or EU I think.I saw probably 30 of these yesterday. Judging by the high #'s, 10000 or so may not be too far off...perhaps maybe 8000?My copy is #0067 in Memphis, TN.This sounds so much better than the OG press - hello bass end!

That's weird, according to website, limited to 1500: oh wait, I have a different bar code. That's even weirder My stamped number says: MOV 000452, MOV is from 'Music On Vinyl'
#7,757 haha. Probably 10K?
