Label: Milestone Records – M-9097. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album. What a phenomenal album! Super funky with a bright, deep, jazzy, disco vibe. Yep, Azamuth managed to fit it all together, vocoder and all. Just a lovely album. Reply Notify me 5 Helpful.
The album was recorded in 1979 and its first nine cuts were remixed in 1980 when it was finally issued. The most successful moments here are the covers, where the trio digs into spaced out, modern-day electric jazz classics such as "Light as a Feather," and "500 Miles High," both of which are closely associated with Return to Forever, its vocalist at the time Flora Purim, and her husband, percussionist Airto Moreira.

Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample). The cd "Outubro" is in that trio of exemplary recordings by Azymuth when they were at their creative/performing peak. IMO it is best listened to from beginning to end. The placement of the tracks so compliments one another that there is this beautiful flow of moods all combined to make this cd a timeless treasure. I highly recommend all three cds: Outubro, Light As a Feather and Telecommunications.
