Rich Man, Poor Man is a 1976 American television miniseries based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Irwin Shaw that aired on ABC in one- or two-hour episodes mostly on Monday nights over seven weeks, beginning February 1. It was produced by Universal Television and was the second time programming of this nature had been attempted. The first TV miniseries, QB VII, had aired - also on ABC - in 1974.

Rich Man was originally released by Sire in 1972, four years before the Climax Blues Band broke through to the mainstream via their only radio hit, "Couldn't Get It Right. While this isn't the most memorable record in their discography, it is worth checking out for fans, as a lighter, pop-oriented approach is mixed with the hard blues-rock the band was known for at the time, especially on the Bo Diddley-like "Shake Your Love" and the Son House standard "Don't You Mind People Grinning in Your Face.

Rich Man, Poor Man is a 1969 novel by Irwin Shaw. It is the last of the novels of Shaw's middle period before he began to concentrate, in his last works such as Evening In Byzantium, Nightwork, Bread Upon The Waters, and Acceptable Losses, on the inevitability of impending death. The title is taken from the nursery rhyme "Tinker, Tailor". The novel was adapted into a 1976 miniseries.
