Anderson/stolt - invention of knowledge 2 vinyl lp+CD new+. Anderson/stolt: invention of knowledge. Invention of Knowledge by Jon Anderson (Vocals (Yes))/Anderson/Stolt/R. Anderson, Stolt - Invention of Knowledge DLP Everything here works for the songs. Stolt was always heavily influenced by Steve Howe and it shows, in a good way. In fact, the album sounds very fresh and exciting most of the time, with the excellent backing band providing Anderson with a lush, symphonic and creative tapestry of sounds for his unique voice. The first half of the CD is specially good, while for a time it seemed to me that the second half dragged on a bit, but a few more spins I?´m enjoying it all.
Former Yes vocalist Jon Anderson and The Flower Kings guitarist Roine Stolt have teamed up on the four-track release Invention Of Knowledge, which arrives on June 24 via InsideOut Music. Invention of Knowledge Album Cover. You might be wondering how these two giants came together to bring this project to light, being as they are from two completely different generations of progressive rock musicians. There’s some history here for those like me who like all the possible details: The idea to bring together the Yes legend and The Flower Kings/Transatlantic maestro actually came from Inside Out owner Thomas Waber. It was Thomas who originally told me that I should work with Jon Anderson recalls Stolt. From this beginning, Anderson and Stolt began exchanging musical ideas across the world. Jon began to send me through files with ideas he had, adds Stolt. And I took these, chopped them into bits and began to assemble the tracks for the album.
Anderson/Stolt – Invention of Knowledge. Jun 1 2016 by Jeff Nixon. The Flower Kings is a band that really helped carry the torch in the 90’s that bands like Yes lit during the 60’s and 70’s, taking that style of Progressive Rock to a new level and continuing to help it grow. So it’s quite a treat to hear a collaboration between the leader of The Flower Kings, Roine Stolt, and the former lead vocalist of Yes, Jon Anderson.
Better than most Anderson solo albums. Anderson and Stolt began their musical career in the 70’s. Anderson is best known as the lead singer of Yes, which he co-founded in 1968 with Chris Squire. He was a member of the band across three tenures between 1968 and 2008. Many consider him as the soul of Yes.
Invention Of Knowledge. Written-By – Anderson, Campbell, Stolt. Stolt is an excellent guitar player in the vein of Steve Howe. The entire production excels and this is a nice addition to the Yes-family catalog and is the best Jon Anderson solo album since Animotion. Reply Notify me Helpful. Invention of Knowledge is their result. Co-produced by the artists, it features a prog dream team: Stolt's brother Michael and Jonas Reingold on basses, keyboardists Lalle Larsson and Tom Brislin, drummer Felix Lehrmann, and a five-voice chorus that includes Daniel Gildenlöw. Waber wanted them to extend the range of "Yes music. That happens, but there's way more to it. Anderson can still create in the mold of his former band, but he also brings his solo experience that explored a vast range of musical traditions
