Songs of Old Ireland: The Songs of Mai O'Higgins spotlights tunes - mostly waltzes and ballads - written or co-written by the titular composer, and performed by a variety of artists. The overall tone of the compilation is one of sentimental nostalgia for the old country, and the technically polished vocalists croon the songs sweetly and appropriately.

The songs are arranged beautifully, and the words and tunes on nearly all the songs are very moving and worshipful. There is a sense about the whole album of the strong relationship with God that the song's author has. I like how this one leans towards a little bit more acoustic, traditional Irish sound than some of Robin Mark's immediately preceding albums. The Irish whistles are prominent on several songs. I love the songs by Robin Mark. The blending of traditional Irish instrumentation with the passion of modern worship is wonderful.
Heroes changes that with infectious songs and great musicianship, all the while making the future for Sabaton all the more optimistic. Sabaton as a band should be on everyone’s radar and offer something every metalhead can enjoy. With the massive, heavy riffs, strong sense of melody, and a scale of epicness, they’re worth your time and devotion. Heroes only extends upon that and opens up their future to so much more.
