Songs For A Tailor is much less blues orientated than one would think or have expected, especially considering Jack Bruce’s work with Cream, and the fact that the Blind Faith album would be released in this year as well. Interestingly enough, nearly all of the lyrics have been penned by Pete Brown, who was responsible for Cream’s most influential lyrics, where the songs come across as a reflection of Jack Bruce’s personality at the time, feeling rather fragile and bruised, laying out a bit of white English soul that’s nicely counterbalanced.
Theme for an Imaginary Western" is a song written by Jack Bruce and Pete Brown. The song is sometimes referred to as "Theme from an Imaginary Western". It has been performed by many artists, including Mountain, Jack Bruce, Leslie West, Colosseum, Greenslade, DC3 and Johan Asherton. The song originally appeared on Bruce's Songs for a Tailor album in 1969. The lyrics by Pete Brown are mentioned in Brown's autobiography "White Rooms and Imaginary Westerns" (.
The Clearout" has Spedding, Hiseman, and Bruce end the album with progressive pop slightly different from the other recordings here. As with 1971's Harmony Row, Peter Brown composed all the lyrics on Songs for a Tailor with Jack Bruce writing the music. A lyric sheet is enclosed and displays the serious nature of this project. It is picture perfect in construction, performance, and presentation.

Over the hills the good times are sitting under grey clouds And the sound of the love songs Is being lost in the crowds of the magical lessons that you taught me from the walls I forgot all the path ways and I remembered the falls. You say you don't want me Well I don't want you to go You say you don't need me You shut my hair in the door You say you won't have me You're leaving my wound all sore.
