Poulenc - François-René Duchâble, Jean-Philippe Collard, Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, James Conlon ‎– Concerto Pour 2 Pianos - Concerto Pour Piano - Aubade. Label: Erato ‎– NUM 75203. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album.

Concerto for 2 Pianos in D Minor: I. Allegro, Ma Non Troppo. François René Duchable, James Conlon, Jean-Philippe Collard & Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. 2. Concerto for 2 Pianos in D Minor: I. Larghetto. 3. Concerto for 2 Pianos in D Minor: III.

Concerto Pour 2 Pianos. The first work is the Concerto for 2 Pianos and Orchestra and is the model of clarity and balance between the two pianists and Conlon's orchestral conducting. It sparkles, bounces, and glows. The 'Aubade', a 'choreographic concerto for piano and 18 instruments' was written for a Nijinski ballet. It harkens back to classicism but never veers far from Poulenc's own style of the French sound.

The Piano Concerto in C-sharp minor, FP 146, by Francis Poulenc is the last of his five concertos. Written in 1949 on commission from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, it has three movements and a duration of about 20 minutes. The tuneful, energetic concerto was commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra to restore relations between Paris, Poulenc's hometown, and the United States after the Second World War.

Concerto for Two Pianos. François-René Duchâble, Jean-Philippe Collard pfs Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, James Conlon. Warner Apex 2-2 (55’ · DDD). Duchâble is a stylish player in the Piano Concerto and is joined by Collard for the sparkling Double Piano Concerto – and they find a glorious sense of poise in the languid slow movement. Conlon and his Rotterdam orchestra accompany with panache.
