Rock Me Baby is the second solo album release from David Cassidy. It was released in 1972 and produced by Wes Farrell on Bell Records. It contains one song written by Cassidy called "Two Time Loser" and a song he co-wrote with Kim Carnes entitled "Song for a Rainy Day". The album peaked at in the UK album charts and featured the single "How Can I Be Sure"

Rock Me Baby ‎(LP, Album).

Rock Me Baby doesn't contain monster hooks that are impossible to get out of your head, but the combination of blue-eyed soul and album rock trappings (utilizing a wah-wah pedal) sound almost experimental coming from Cassidy. Although Partridge Family associate Wes Farrell provided the production, it's obvious Cassidy had input in the direction and material.

Cherish (David Cassidy album). Cherish is the debut solo album by American singer David Cassidy, produced by Wes Farrell and released by Bell Records in early 1972. Cassidy had come to prominence via the TV series The Partridge Family and had sung lead on several hit singles and successful albums under the group moniker.

Rock Me Baby' is not! 'How Can I Be Sure' charted (& it is a great song) but it seems to divide the album into schizophrenia. It's another cover, many of which Cassidy nearly always performs well. Equally there's the 'Wrecking Crew' performing with their usual distinction & adeptness on all the tracks. The stand-out tracks for me are 'Some Kind Of Summer' & 'Soft As A Summer Shower'. The tracks are performed & produced beautifully. It's not that 'Rock Me Baby' is a bad album at all. It's just that those of us who loved the David Cassidy/Wes Farrell collaboration expected great tunes for every track. Rock Me Baby', did not provide any one great new original tune in this desired more mature direction. So in the next few years we all went to Elton, Rod, & Bowie! What can I say? This is not to say that 'Rock Me Baby' is in anyway a flop! The team is still in amazing form, with Cassidy at the helm, in all its glory!

Album Then and Now. You may call me a rollin' stone, I'm a free born man and I stand alone I come a-lookin' for a little satisfaction I don't drive no Cadillac, all I've got's hangin' on my back But I do believe in a physical attraction I can warm your coldest night, I'll make ev'rythin' all right.
