Alice in Chains (occasionally informally referred to as The Dog Album, The Dog Record, and Tripod) is the self-titled third studio album by the American rock band Alice in Chains. It was released on November 7, 1995, and was the follow-up to the highly successful Dirt. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 46 weeks. Grind", "Heaven Beside You" and "Again" were released as singles.

Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits is the only greatest hits album by American rock band Alice Cooper, and their last release as a band. Released in 1974, it features hit songs from five of the band's seven studio albums. It does not include any material from their first two albums, Pretties for You and Easy Action

Released a year before his death from an overdose, this collection covers the Layne Stayley era of the band (they reformed in 2005). Major hits "Rooster" and "No Excuses" are included, as well as "Them Bones," which is "the" archetypal grunge tune. With the torrent of imitators echoing their dark depression in the wake of Dirt, Alice In Chains was one of, if not the most influential band of their time.

Greatest Hits provides a quick fix for newer fans, but with The Best of the Box boasting 9 of Greatest Hits' 10 songs, plus an additional 5 selections. Skip Hits and go for The Best. From 1999's Music Bank box set and its one-CD compilation offshoot, Nothing Safe: The Best of the Box to a 1996 Unplugged CD, the Alice in Chains titles continue to arrive even while the band-and especially reclusive frontman Layne Staley-stagnates. With that being said, Alice in Chains' greatest hits collection is disappointing. The Layne Staley era of the band consisted of three albums, two EPs and one unplugged album. With nine years of material, they managed to scrape together ten songs for their greatest hits. All of Alice's albums had more than ten songs, and their greatest hits album only has ten songs. Why couldn't they just make a singles collection" They released tons of singles during their career. Alice's first album, Facelift, was released in 1990.

Greatest Hits is the second collection of hit songs by the band, albeit shorter than the previous release, Nothing Safe: Best of the Box. Greatest Hits was certified gold by the RIAA on November 30, 2005. It was the last album released by Alice in Chains before the death of singer Layne Staley in 2002. Mike Starr plays bass on tracks 1-5, and Mike Inez on Tracks 6-10. The album cover features a photo of boxer Gene Fullmer.

In September 1992, Alice in Chains released Dirt. The critically acclaimed album, also the band's most successful, debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, and was certified quadruple Platinum. The band did not tour in support of Dirt for very long, due to Staley's drug addiction. While touring, Starr left the band due to personal reasons and was replaced by Mike Inez. 1994 saw the. release of Alice in Chains' second acoustic EP, Jar of Flies  . - - - Greatest Hits.
