Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 1 is a studio album by Coil that was released in September of 1999. It is the first album in the Musick to Play in the Dark series, the second being Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 2. Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 1 was one of two albums attributed purely to a style called "moon musick", which signified their change from a "solar" to a "moon" group. 2 is the sequel album.

The Noise is the 20th studio album by the English singer and songwriter Peter Hammill. As the title implies, the album is a collection of uptempo rock songs, in sharp contrast to Hammill's previous album, Fireships, which consisted mainly of ballads. The album was announced on its sleeve as "Number 1 in the A Loud series" (Fireships had similarly been labelled as "Number 1 in the BeCalm series").

I love how they’ve taken classic designs by some of our hero’s (Don Buchla and Serge) and built on it and put it in the hands of us mere mortals with non-heroic bank accts. Stuff still not cheap but worth every penny.

Make Some Noise begins with their lead single Long Way to Go, a very guitar oriented, rocking track drenched with Corabi’s raspy sounding vocals. A strong impact to start, We All Fall Down comes in next with groovy rhythmic feel complemented by a deep bassline bringing it down a notch from the album’s opening track. This is before Song and a Prayer with its uplifting chorus, making it something that could easily be played on Rock radio. Then, coming on with a faster pace, Mainline is the type of cut to drive to, and easily exceed the speed limit. Shifting toward the past, the band offers up two cover tracks in the second half of the album. First comes Creedence Clearwater Revival 1969 song Fortunate Son. A song covered by many artists since the original recording, The Daisies speed it up, creating a very respectful version that fans and fellow rockers will approve of.

Exactly wot Freddy said [see below] except it's JB's 'Turnit Loose' not 'Funky Drummer' that Carlos is shredding : )Well advanced for '88...sounds like proper futuristic rave madness made with a large amount of hindsight

Again the only reason that there are so many of these here is because people do not have a clue who this master producer Caros Berrios is. He was one of the in demand multi editors and producers during Freestyle's hey day. This is an amazing record bulit around Funky Drummer with killer edits and just plain dope beats. Modern day Breaks or electro producers need to get hip to the dope records from back in the day as these were the forerunners to great Breaks records. There are many to be found if you only know where to look. This is definately worth picking up.
