Wow yea why didnt he put on all of them? I'm not a vinyl-expert so that's why I'm asking is it due to not going up to 4x vinyl, the price (of manufacturing/selling it), or what's the deal, why wouldn't one NOT want to release the whole album?

Marketing I guess. Incentive/features of each that lead one to buy both, like myself lol Still annoying though

Well the clues in the title! Calibre moves his sound around with masterful skill through different flavours. Deep takes on a very mellow lounge roll. Echoes and Enter stand out for me, perhaps as they most hint at the touches of older Calibre I still hold dear. Not blown away with some of the offerings here, but I can see them being important to a whole new demographic of music lovers.

agree with the comments below. not putting enter to wax was an absolute travesty.

'Enter' not on the wax..madness! It's a cd purchase then, as stated by others.

Such a shame the best tracks of the albums aren't on the vinyl version... I'll buy the CD.

The drum pieces are of high quality, deep is the word. Both modern and full of oldschool flavors, "complain" & "Echoes" are masterpieces. The brass in "Up in Smoke" are so jazzy and roots ! 5/5

Almost 2 weeks after it's release, there are still practically no reviews of Calibre's newest Album - The Deep. That urged me to write one myself, as it's been on constant rotation since the last 10 days.Funnily enough, I have listened to it in the wrong order until just now (Better Than Me - number 11 and one of my favourites, is floating out of the speakers as I am writing these words). Now that I bought it digitally on Beatport (because there was no Bandcamp release and signing up to the labels' page was too much of a bother), I get a better picture of what Calibre wanted to express and achieve. Better sound quality, right order of tracks - it makes a lot of difference! Add to this the fact that I just moved to another room where I hear the bass much better and it's no surprise why I feel so moved by the music that I want to give praise to it in the form of this review...The album's name says it all. The Deep. Of course, knowing Calibre's musical output - you can imagine what kind of depth it will reflect. Soulful, delicate, a "Gentle Push" (track #12) into deep feelings. Throughout it's 13 tracks, it moves effortlessly between "Drum'n'Bass", "House" and "Breakbeat" (don't take my word on this - I am no expert in putting things into the right box, especially not with music genres - who knows, it might have nothing to do with House!)The whole album creates an atmosphere of melancholy, which is filled with hope and moments of joyful play. Some of the vocals which are present in a lot of tracks add a touch of mystery, others invite to sing along. Calibre created a balanced mix between tracks that will work perfectly on the dancefloor and those that let your mind wander freely on a Sunday evening spend alone or with your partner by the cheminee.5/5
