A Question of Balance is the sixth album by The Moody Blues. Released in 1970, the album reached in the United Kingdom and in the United States. Album A Question of Balance. The Balance Lyrics  . This closing track provides an answer to the Question of Balance. The protagonist of the song learns that hate and death and war (posed in the opening track as the question) are the result of internal anger and a lack of understanding. He finally is enlightened when he sees his enemy like unto himself, in a state of balance. Both he and his enemy hurt others, know hurt, feel pain, cause pain, etc, and both need to be enlightened to this fact.

Gatefold opens up like an envelope rather than the traditional book style. Comes with printed lyrics. On rear of sleeve: Marketed in Australasia by PolyGram Records under exclusive license. On record labels: Made by PolyGram Records under exclusive license. Other Versions (5 of 153) View All. Cat.

The Moody Blues' first real attempt at a harder rock sound still has some psychedelic elements, but they're achieved with an overall leaner studio sound. The group was trying to take stock of itself at this time, and came up with some surprisingly strong, lean numbers (Michael Pinder's Mellotron is surprisingly restrained until the final number, "The Balance"), which also embraced politics for the first time ("Question" seemed to display the dislocation that a lot of younger listeners were feeling during Vietnam).

Question (The Moody Blues song). Question" is a 1970 single by the English progressive rock band The Moody Blues. It was written by guitarist Justin Hayward, who provides lead vocals. Question" was first released as a single in April 1970 and remains their second highest charting song, reaching number two and staying on the chart for 12 weeks. It was later featured as the lead track on the 1970 album A Question of Balance

The Moody Blues hadn't exactly crafted a garage-rock album. But the thrust of opener "Question" spelled out the band's new . I got very angry one night listening to the news about the war in Vietnam," Hayward continued. The only reason to have a war to me is to do with starvation. people fighting for their lives. Question" is undoubtedly the album's signature moment, but the Moody Blues struck magic in Hayward's jangly rocker "It's Up to You," in the eerie textures of Mike Pinder's "How Is It (We Are Here)" and in the torrent of acoustic finger-picking on Ray Thomas' seductive "And the Tide Rushes I. Moody Blues haters like to bash the dated flower-power vibe of the band's early material.
