Danileigh released her debut album The Plan after her social media presence gained momentum from the artist’s rendition of the In My Feelings dance trend. The trio trade verses shooting down fake players and posers. DaniLeigh calls out the pressed who sweat her like that ass been on X all day, while YG keeps asking for the fakes to simply get the F out of his face

The daughter of a coal miner, weaving a trail from West Virginia to Texas and now residing in Scotland, Heather Leigh furthers the vast unexplored reaches of pedal steel guitar. Her playing is as physical as it is phantom, combining spontaneous compositions with a feel for the full interaction of flesh with hallucinatory power sources.

The album features an upbeat duet with Thunder's powerhouse vocalist Danny Bowes titled, ‘Just A Woman’. The mystical wonder of Troy Donockley of Nightwish and his Uilleann pipes feature on the track titled ‘I Remember’ and on the track ‘Winner’, a guest appearance on flute from non other than the Flute Father Himself, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull is featured

Leigh heightens tension with rising hums and guitar plucks. Additions to Leigh’s palette boost such complexity throughout Throne, including drum machine, synths, and backing by John Hannon on violin and her husband, David Keenan, on bass. This layered music feels simple but echoes deeply. The most complex song on Throne is also its longest. The 17-minute Gold Teeth is less a love song than an abstract poem, as Leigh repeats simple phrases to conjure new meanings. That may sound heady, and Throne is not easy-listening, even if it is Leigh’s most song-oriented album yet. Leigh, after all, calls her music a personal religion, and it often feels like a series of spiritual explorations and epiphanies. But Throne is also quite sensual, reveling in bodies and the environments through which they move.

Heather Leigh : Throne. JK Flesh : New Horizon. Expertly mastered by Martin Siewart (who rumour has it will be working on the duo’s cipated studio album), the mix works to bring out the most tactile qualities of the sound: you feel the pulse and the rhythms of every exchange, the body-rocking bass, the ghosts of the upper register.
