Eat a Peach is the third studio album by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band. Produced by Tom Dowd, the album was released on February 12, 1972, in the United States by Capricorn Records. Following their artistic and commercial breakthrough with the release of the live album At Fillmore East (1971), the Allman Brothers Band got to work on their third studio album. Many in the band were struggling, however, with heroin addictions, and checked into rehab to confront these problems.

Band Duane Allman - Guitar Gregg Allman - Piano Dickey Betts - Guitar Berry Oakley - Bass Butch Trucks - Drums Jai Johanny Johanson - Drums. But as fans of the band know Eat A Peach is an album wreathed in sadness, because it was recorded between September and December 1971, and it was on 29 October that 24 year old Duane Allman was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. The album’s opening track was written for his brother by Gregg Allman. It was originally a double LP and was a record of three distinct elements.
