Candida is a 1970 album by Dawn, a studio session group including Tony Orlando, Toni Wine, and Linda November.

Tony Orlando and Dawn (originally known as Dawn, and later as Dawn featuring Tony Orlando) was a pop music group from New York City, NY, USA that was very popular in the 1970s. Their signature hits were "Candida", "Knock Three Times","Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Ole Oak Tree", and "He Don't Love You (Like I Love You)". In 1970, Tony Orlando was a retired cover singer.

That single was "Knock Three Times," written by "Candida" co-writer Irwin Levine and the lyricist L. Russell "Larry" Brown. Both the album and single were released under the name Dawn, which became Tony Orlando & Dawn when he cut ties with CBS. The song rose to in January 1971. Backup singers on the Candida album included Toni Wine (who co-wrote the song "Candida"), Jay Siegel (from The Tokens), Robin Grean and Linda November.

The actual singers were Tony Orlando, Toni Wine, and Linda November, prior to the creation of "Dawn" with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson. The song was released as a single in November 1970, paired with Orlando's other hit song, "Candida" (also written by Toni Wine). Knock Three Times actually sold more than 100,000 records a day in New York City alone for ten straight days. The song appears in several motion pictures including Now and Then. The song was covered by Billy "Crash" Craddock in 1971 and became a number three country hi. .In 1994 the Mexican group Banda Zeta recorded a Spanish versión called "Toca tres veces" for their album Jacarandosa.
