Gaon Album Chart, part of Gaon Music Chart, is a national chart that ranks the best-selling albums, including mini and single albums, in South Korea, provided by the Korea Music Content Industry Association. It has been tracking sales since the beginning of 2010 and launched in February the same year as part of the Gaon Music Chart. The charts are made up of charts tracking domestic album sales, international album sales and a combined overall album sales in weekly, monthly and year-end format.
Gene were a British rock band that rose to prominence in the mid-1990s. Formed in 1993, they were popularly labelled as a Britpop band and often drew comparisons to the Smiths because of their Morrissey-esque lead singer, Martin Rossiter. Gene's music was influenced by the Jam, the Smiths, the Style Council and the Clash.
Cross Gene (Korean: 크로스진; stylized as CROSS GENE) is a four-member boy group based in South Korea which debuted on June 11th, 2012. Signed under Amuse Korea, the group consists of South Korean members: Shin, Sangmin, Yongseok and Seyoung. They released their debut mini-album Timeless: Begins in 2012, which peaked at on the Gaon weekly album chart. On May 26, 2012, Amuse Korea revealed that they would be debuting a multinational group consisting of South Korean, Japanese and Chinese singers.
