Faith No More displayed an even more experimental effort on their next album, Angel Dust, which was released in 1992. One critic writes that the album is "one of the more complex and simply confounding records ever released by a major label" and another writes that the single "'A Small Victory', which seems to run Madame Butterfly , Album of the Year and break-up (1995–1998) Fool for a Lifetime Fool for a Lifetime was released in 1995, and varies greatly from song to song in style; post-hardcore/punk, country, jazz, bossa nova, thrash metal, gospel music, along with other signature FNM elements, are woven together throughout the album.

Angel Dust is the fourth studio album by American rock band Faith No More. It is the follow-up to 1989’s highly successful The Real Thing, as well as the band’s final studio album with guitarist Jim Martin and the second to feature vocalist Mike Patton. It was the first album in which Patton had any substantial influence on the band’s music, having been hired after the other band members had written and recorded everything for The Real Thing except vocals and some lyrics.

On 29th December 1992 Faith No More released "I'm Easy, Be Aggressive" as a single in Europe. Due to its success they repackaged the album to include "Easy" in most markets on 29th January 1993, this did not include North American territories. Two versions of the song were recorded and both are found on different versions of the repackaged version of Angel Dust based on the label which released the album. The first version of "Easy" opens with the dialogue "turn the lights out baby" and "this one's for the ladies in the house".

Faith No More, a San Francisco-based band, have recorded approximately 100 songs over the course of their career; this includes material from six studio albums, one live album, and numerous B-side tracks and out-takes. Faith No More were founded in 1981 as Sharp Young Men, and changed their name to Faith No Man before releasing the 1982 double A-side single "Quiet in Heaven", "Song of Liberty".
