The Man-Machine (German title: Die Mensch-Maschine) is the seventh studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk, released in May 1978. It includes the singles "The Model" and "The Robots", and also "Neon Lights". Upon its release, the NME stated: "The Man-Machine stands as one of the pinnacles of 1970s rock music.

Kraftwerk: Minimum-Maximum (German Release). Kraftwerk: Minimum-Maximum (German Release) - YouTube. Sung by Sibylle Baier a German folk singer and actress whose musical abilities achieved belated recognition with the 2006 release of the album Colour Green, compiled from songs she had recorded in the early 1970s. Having played guitar and piano as a young girl, she was moved to write her first song, "Remember The Day", after taking a road trip with a friend across the Alps to Genoa, via Strasbourg.

The Man-Machine is closer to the sound and style that would define early new wave electro-pop - less minimalistic in its arrangements and more complex and danceable in its underlying rhythms.

The Man-Machine remains the most obvious Kraftwerk record: robots making music about robots making music. If 1974’s Autobahn embodied naïve euphoria and 1977’s Trans-Europe Express was thumping desolation, Man-Machine is completely neutral. While the fast-paced world of Ralf Hütter quotes knows no limits of pretension, this is the only album that conceivably expresses his ideal music: No emotions, no philosophies, no performances, and virtually no humor. For the first half of the album, the only remotely human touch is the rolled r when Ralf robo-sings, We are the robots.
