All the Ghosts, the fifth album by British singer-songwriter Gwyneth Herbert, was released by Naim Edge in the United Kingdom in 2009 and in the United States in 2010. In early 2008, Herbert was commissioned by a collaborative project between Peter Gabriel and Bowers & Wilkins to record an acoustic album at Gabriel's Real World Studios
On her fourth album, Gwyneth Herbert builds on the strengths that made her last release, Between Me And The Wardrobe, a success. Focussing on her folk-jazz vocal style and on her own compositions rather than cover versions, All The Ghosts should see her career continue on its recent upward trajectory. Herbert's songs are rightly starting to draw comparisons with those of 60s Ray Davies and Paul McCartney.

All The Ghosts is a jazz related pop/art song/folk music album recording by GWYNETH HERBERT released in 2009 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette.
But what about Gwyneth Herbert? With her photogenic looks and a voice that could run the gamut from vulnerability to soul-belting, Universal was confident that it could create a smooth-jazz diva. Herbert was less convinced, and walked away after one overproduced album to pursue a more personal path as a highly individual singer-songwriter. All the Ghosts is the second album in that journey and shows increasingly confident writing.
Gwyneth Herbert didn't hang a jazz-singer label around her neck when she made her memorable debut in 2004, but she featured some sensitive interpretations of jazz standards, despite her clearly very non-sectarian tastes. This fine album, which marks Herbert's second restart after brief flings with major labels (first Universal, then Blue Note), is also the truest to her distinctive muse, with its debts to Janis Ian, Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits, as much as to Billie Holiday or Nina Simone
