Decoy is a 1984 album by jazz musician Miles Davis, recorded in 1983. It features keyboardist Robert Irving III and guitarist John Scofield contributing most of the compositions and the other solos. The theme of "That's What Happened" comes from Scofield's improvised solo from the track "Speak" included on the previous album Star People. Saxophonist Branford Marsalis guested with the group on the September 1983 studio sessions. Decoy" (Robert Irving III) 8:33.

The group later mixed that style with reggae on their 1992 album Tékit Izi, and later with salsa on 1998's Un Toque Latino, which "provided an important bridge between West Indian and Latin American culture" according to RFI Music. The group is still touring today, using their music to provide visibility for social and political causes such as xenophobia, humanitarian rights and global development. Davis talked about Prince as if he was the culmination of the past century of American music - and he wasn't far off. "Prince is from the school of James Brown. but Prince got some Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix and Sly in him, also, even Little Richard," Davis wrote in his autobiography. He's a mixture of all those guys and Duke Ellington. He reminds me, in a way, of Charlie Chaplin, he and Michael Jackson.

Miles Davis walked off the stage, That's what the folks are all saying. Oh yes he did leave the stage, After his solo was all over. Coltrane h. iew full lyrics.

I planned that album around the piano playing of Bill Evans, Davis admitted in 1989. The story of how they grew together and then apart is all the more poignant given the time and place they lived in. In the late ’50s, America was witnessing the civil rights movement in its early maturity, awakening to the complexities of race relations in modern times. There was no hypocrisy, and that’s important to me. I told this to Miles, and asked him if he understood what I meant. He said he did. Some very horrible things go on down there. So What’ or Kind of Blue, they were done in that era, the right hour, the right day, and it happened. It’s over, Davis told Ben Sidran in 1986. He further declared, What I used to play with Bill Evans, all those different modes, and substitute chords, we had the energy then and we liked it.
