Lil Wayne has reportedly scored a big win in his ongoing legal battle with Cash Money Records on Wednesday (June 6), which means his long-delayed album Tha Carter V could arrive sooner than we think. Court documents filed by Wayne's attorney Howard King (obtained by The Blast) claim that all sides in the lawsuit were willing to move forward and dismiss the suit. Lil Wayne’s PR team will send out a statement shortly with accurate updates. Wayne and Birdman's strained relationship has played out in the public for years.
David Wayne Perkins (born 1951 in Birmingham, Alabama) is a rock and R & B guitarist, singer, songwriter and session musician. He was the oldest of six children, a brother and four sisters. Both of his parents sang and played guitar. It was only natural for Perkins to pick up a guitar when he was six years old and teach himself to play. At age 15, Perkins played his first gig as a session musician, in Bob Grove's Prestige Recording Studio in Birmingham
Although he's reluctant to discuss his legal issues, Wayne tells Rolling Stone that he's not on speaking terms with Birdman. He also gives an update on Tha Carter V, saying "It's super-done. Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit. I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it's a dead subject right now. It's a jewel in the safe. It's that stash-house money.
