I used to spend most of my time Just being alone, yes, I did Nothing to do, no place to go Just stayed at home. So I put my blues upon the shelf And I made up my mind To live a little myself So I went on down to a disco. Disco, that's where The happy people go (Happy people go) And they're just dancing along To a perfect song at the disco. If the Trammps were assembled to perform only disco songs, then Where the Happy People Go supports that notion - in a good way. Every selection here rings with disco. The first release from this dance album was the melodic "That's Where the Happy People G. It broke into the Billboard R&B Top 20 at number 12, staying on the charts for 16 weeks.

Quite possibly the best record ever by The Trammps – halfway between their roots in the early 70s east coast indie club scene, and the smoother approach of their later disco hits! The set is prime Sigma Sound disco – with strong harmonies by the group in a post-Spinners mode, and plenty of help from Philly regulars like Bobby Eli, Norman Harris, and Ron Baker – who maintain a core rhythm that really help the record groove! The whole thing is great – with long tracks, but still a great focus.

The trammps - that's where the happy people. The trammps - that's where the happy people.
