Primus: Rock’s Favourite Weirdos. One of the strangest bands in rock are touring with Mastodon at the moment, we thought maybe you could use a refresher course in their musical career. Fun side note: James Hetfield played guitar on Electic Electric on their 1999 album Antipop. Primus - The Thing That Should Not Be (Metallica Cover). With their musical pedigree, other bands of the same ilk could be regarded as humourless musos, but part of Primus’ appeal lies in their sense of mischief. If you’re not entirely familiar with Primus, you’ve definitely heard them if you’re a fan of South Park. We got a call years ago that these guys were working on this little animated pilot for Comedy Central, Claypool told the Hollywood Reporter.

This is a discography for the American rock band Primus. For individual songs, see the category listing. Primus hired many of their friends from the Bay Area to be in the stage crew, and many of them appear in Primus's videos and home videos. 1988 - Germ's Choice: A KUSF Compilation (promo for KUSF radio, featuring the demo version of "Tommy the Cat"). 1991 - A Different Sound (promo for Carlsberg Light lager, featuring "Tommy the Cat").

Weirdo songs for weirdos. Stick for me. JacobTheMe If you can hold a low and atmospheric voice (not too hard), you HAVE to take something off Nick Cave's MurderBallads album ^^ Theres some really atmospheric and weird songs there. The Curse of Millhaven is sure to make one orgasm everytime.

Primus In a new documentary about The Residents, Theory of Obscurity, Primus bassist Les Claypool jokes that he’s often accused of being in The Residents. It’s not surprising, given how much Primus’s jams recall The Residents’ own psychedelic concoctions. But the reason some think Claypool is a Resident in disguise is obvious: that twangy, auctioneering voice. Devo Devo never thought of The Residents as competition-we looked up to them, we respected them. That’s Devo’s Jerry Casale, who also appears in the documentary. Their debut album, Solid Pleasures, plays like the love child of The Residents and Giorgio Moroder, drenching listeners in synths, schizophrenic vocals, and t samples. Yup, that’s what the stage looked like on her 2013 tour.

Album · 1997 · 7 Songs. Attack of the Weirdos Bizarre. Listen on Apple Music.

Primus’ next album might be, at least conceptually, their weirdest yet: They’re doing their own spin on the music from the immortal 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
