An extended play record, often referred to as an EP, is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single, but is usually unqualified as an album or LP. Contemporary EPs generally contain a minimum of three tracks and maximum of six tracks, and are considered "less expensive and time-consuming" for an artist to produce than an album.
Brutal and eloquent, the track unfolds to introduce Detroit influenced dubbypads that have a deep and dusty aesthetic, and sets the tone for the rest of the EP. Second on the release Work It has a thumping kick drum at its centre, which sits under fast flowing hihatsand pulsating percussion hits. Stripped back and understated, there is something tribal about therhythms and the commanding vocal chant that gives the track its name.
The EP sparked a bidding war among record labels, the largest for a rock band in years Is This It (2001–2002). The Strokes released their debut album, Is This It, in the US in October 2001. The Strokes released their second album Room on Fire in October 2003. It received praise from critics but was less commercially successful, although it still went gold. The album's sound maintained the Strokes' familiar reference points, while also evoking groups such as the Cars, Bob Marley, and Blondie In the process, they made the cover of Spin Magazine for the second time, with each member receiving his own cover. They also made the cover of Rolling Stone for the first time. This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it.
Powerful esp. rainbow road (which is catchy).
What does EP stand for. EP or Mini Album (Extended Play) – originally a record, on each side of which only 2-4 musical compositions with a total duration of sound of 15-20 minutes were placed. Initially, EP was called the 7-inch diameter vinyl record, recorded at 33⅓ RPM. This difference of speed with respect to the simple engraving at 45 RPM allowed it to have a longer duration (a maximum of 25 minutes, 12’30 per side) compared to the length of the single, whose maximum duration could not exceed 15 minutes. In general, an album contains at least eight audio tracks (or lasts 30 to 80 minutes) and a single contains two or three tracks (for less than 10 minutes). An EP usually contains four to seven tracks (for 10 to 30 minutes of music). A remix of a single song is not an EP unless it contains in addition to other songs that do not remix.
