Swingin' Easy is a 1957 studio album by the American jazz singer Sarah Vaughan. On the second chorus of "All of Me" Vaughan bops in "a quite extraordinary fashion, covering more than two octaves" (from the sleeve notes). Pennies from Heaven" is taken slower than is usual and Vaughan creates a brand new melody the second time around, a kind of descant improvising on the original tune.

Lana Del Rey has an awful lot of great songs that didn't make it onto her any four studio albums. We've compiled 11 intriguing demos, b-sides and loose ends from the catalog of Lana, dating back to her days recording as Lizzy Grant. Lana Del Rey. The problem with auteurs isn’t that they leave a lot of good stuff on the cutting-room floor in pursuit of a singular vision. It’s that once they’ve pursued that vision, they don’t typically go back and make something of the scraps.

American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey has released five studio albums, four extended plays, 30 singles, and 16 music videos. Lana Del Rey signed a record deal with 5 Points Records in 2007 and the following year, she released her debut EP, Kill Kill, under the name Lizzy Grant. Her debut studio album, Lana Del Ray, was shelved initially and was released in January 2010 under the name Lana Del Ray. However, the record was pulled three months later.

Lana Del Ray (sometimes referred to as Lana Del Ray . Lizzy Grant, Nevada or . among others) is the debut studio album by Lana Del Rey. The album was released digitally by 5 Points Records on January 4, 2010, under the name Lana Del Ray. In 2007, 5 Points Records talent scout Van Wilson found Del Rey performing at a songwriting conference in Brooklyn and introduced her to David Nichtern.

Lana Del Rey, the creation of singer and songwriter Lizzy Grant, is all alone. She’s an utterly distinctive figure in popular music-not part of a scene, with no serious imitators-and befitting someone completely off on her own, she’s lonely. In this way, and a few others, she draws inspiration from rap music, broadcasting her obsessions and forcing you to engage with the persona first and the content of the songs second. It’s an impressive opening shot, and there are a few moments in this sequence that make you want to sit back and say, Hold on, is this for real?
